Four businesses, one website

MMACA sells software development, IT consulting, information services and a premium concierge service. One company, four buyers who want nothing in common. They came to us because the site they had made all of it sound like one long list.

The instinct on a brief like that is to narrow it. Pick the line that earns most, lead with that, bury the rest. We have given that advice before and stand by it when the extra services are hobbies. These were not. Every line was registered, staffed and earning, and the concierge arm brought in clients the technology side never would.

So the work became a sorting problem rather than a cutting one. Four areas, named the way a buyer would say them out loud. A page each. An enquiry route on every page that already knows what it is about, so nobody has to explain themselves from a blank box. The concierge side got its own door, well away from the language of system integration.

Eva set the bar at the first meeting: explain everything we do without making the business feel complicated. That was the requirement, and it is the one the project was measured against. Six months on, service pages carry about two thirds of enquiries and the enquiry rate sits at 2.8%, against roughly 1% on the site we replaced.

Before working with Valten, one of our biggest challenges was explaining everything we do without making the business feel overly complicated. They understood that very quickly and built the website around the way our clients actually look for our services. The end result feels much clearer, more professional and much closer to how we want MMACA to be perceived. — Eva, MMACA

Two things we will take to the next one. Naming beats describing: the four headings did more work than any paragraph underneath them. And a shared contact form is a tax on the visitor. Ask the question the page already implies, and people answer it.
