Redfern Plumbing & Heating

Redfern Plumbing & Heating runs two vans out of Manchester. We rebuilt the site around the quote, then put Google Ads behind it, and every month the spend answers to a table of enquiries, costs and booked jobs.

The Redfern boiler-replacement landing page: price bands in a bordered table beside a short quote form with a photo upload.

Looked fine, earned nothing.

The site Redfern came to us with was tidy enough. Van photographs, a services list, a strip of boiler brands, a contact page at the end of the menu. The phone rang most days and nobody could say why: a call might have come from the site, from the van livery, or from a neighbour over the fence. They had paid for marketing before, a directory listing and a short run of ads, and stopped both when neither could be traced to a job.

A boiler quote is an urgent purchase made in a cold house. The person searching wants a price band, a likely date and a way to ask, and they want all three on a phone screen. Redfern's old form asked eleven questions and never mentioned money. Two vans make the wrong enquiry expensive too: a job outside the patch, or a washer an apprentice could change, takes the slot a boiler install would have filled.

What we did.

  1. 01

    Rebuilt the quote path first

Before a pound went to Google, the site got one job to do: a short quote form with price bands stated up front. Photographs of the old boiler are optional, and they save a survey visit when they arrive.

  2. 02

Gave each job its own page

Boiler replacement and emergency repair each got a landing page written for the state the reader is in. The replacement page leads with price bands and install dates; the emergency page leads with arrival times.

  3. 03

    Ran Search inside the patch

Google Ads on the terms a Manchester householder types when the boiler gives out: Search campaigns for replacements, call-focused campaigns for emergencies, and the whole account fenced to the postcodes two vans can reach.

  4. 04

    Cut waste every month

Call tracking and form events tie every enquiry back to a keyword. Each month we cut what spent without booking and fed what booked.

Measured in booked jobs.

Booked jobs are what the spend has to earn back. The budget behind them has not moved since month one; what changed is where it goes.

booked jobs a month

The same budget, spent only on the keywords that end in a booking.

£900

a month, and it stays flat

Growth has to come from cutting waste, so the budget never creeps.

100%

of enquiries tied to a keyword

Call tracking and form events. What books gets fed; what does not gets cut.
